If I let myself dream out loud I would be a singer with a voice that could move complete strangers to feel every colour of their emotions. With that voice I would tell people how I feel with the hope that my song would help people feel less alone.

I can only do it with words so I have tried to combine both loves – music and words – in this unique way to show you how I feel and to say “Thank you” because after all of the days of this year and the next and any more we are blessed to be together, “Thank you is how I feel.” I am, grateful. Let me tell you how.

Here are the musical ways I would like to thank all of you…

Thank you Kelsey.
Bon Jovi – Thank You for Loving Me
“Thank you for loving me
For being my eyes
When I couldn’t see”

Kelsey this is the way I think of you and want to thank you over these last challenging months when it was so difficult to see my way out of the chaos. You brought me clarity where there was none. Your talents are many as you are a rare young woman who is truly gifted but your artfulness is your greatest gift and I thank you for helping me see again. Through your eyes I have been able to identify my own weaknesses and to address them so that I have a stronger message. Thank you.

Thank you Kiersten.
Kelly Clarkson – Thankful
“… I’m thankful for the blessing
And the lessons that I’ve learned with you by my side
I’m thankful so thankful for the love
That you keep bringing in my life in my life…
Don’t you know that I’m thankful for the moment
When I’m down you always know how to make me smile
Thankful for the joy that you’re bringing in my life”

Kiersten I think of you this way, as a girl whose smile can light up a room and dazzle as brightly as the stars and I thank you for it. The girl turned woman who fought for a dream and inspired me to go and make mine happen again, has showed an incredible sense of self and desire. I watched when you set your lofty goals and took notice, making it happen again for myself so I could come out of the darkness and find my way. Thank you.

Thank you Rachel.
Sam Cooke – Been a Long Time Coming but Change is Going to Do You Good

“There’s been times that I thought

I couldn’t last for long
But now I think I’m able to carry on
It’s been a long, long time coming
But I know a change is gonna come
Oh, yes it will.”

Rachel this is how I would musically thank you. You have been through so much and as my eldest daughter, have the classic Type A personality, setting the highest of goals and holding yourself to lofty standards. I know you hold a lot in but I also know how hard you push yourself. As hard as it’s been, with enormous challenge and suffering alongside the joy of finding your life partner and marrying him, I know things are going to change and get better. It’s coming. I admire your gentle but steely determination. Thank you.

Thank you Chelsea.
Jimmy Page and Robert Plant – Thank You

“If the sun refused to shine
I would still be loving you…
Little drops of rain whisper of the pain
Tears of loves lost in the days gone by, oh-oh-oh
My love is strong, with you there is no wrong”

Chelsea this is how I would thank you musically. Your strength of soul and heart is such that I followed you, watching as you withstood some of the most heart wrenching losses any human has had to withstand. When things were hard I saw that you could carry on, so I did too when faced with my own challenges. I thank you for your courage and poise, things I have had to learn about. Of the many things I have learned from you – grace is the biggest. There is a quiet determination at work in you that I am staggered by. I strive every day to emulate this too. Thank you.

Thank you Family.
ZZ Top – I Thank You
“You didn’t have to love me like you did but you did and I thank you”

To thank my family is a giant task. I have leaned on them so heavily especially over the last few years and they have supported me always, never saying it’s too much. They didn’t have to love me like that but they did and I am grateful for each of them, for my mother’s solid encouragement when I felt like quitting, for my sister’s undying love and support when I cried and thought I could never stop, for my brother Rene who helped me find the way to the right answers when there were no right ones and for my other brother Ron who quietly stood by me and gave me a place to go when I needed to take a break. Thank you all.

Thank you to me.
Alanis Morisette – Thank You
“How bout me not blaming you for everything
How bout me enjoying the moment for once
How bout how good it feels to finally forgive you
How bout grieving it all one at a time”

I have had to learn to say thank you to myself and to stop hoping for outcomes that wouldn’t happen – like hoping that angry people would forgive me after asking numerous times for forgiveness. I can’t make that happen because I can’t change people. I can change myself however and have done so. Now I have forgiven myself and know I have done my best in every way with only love in my heart, I can say that I’m good with what I have accomplished this year and I thank myself. Thank you.

Thank you to YOU.
Sinead O’Connor – Thank You for Hearing Me

“Thank you for hearing me
Thank you for loving me
Thank you for seeing me.
And for not leaving me.
Thank you for starting with me.
Thank you for not hurting me.
You are gentle with me.
Thanks for silence with me.”

And for all of you, fans, readers, followers, critics…my musical thanks comes like this: with the beautiful and haunting voice of Sinead O’Connor. You have stood by me, heard my story, not judged me, took me back and loved me more. I am blessed. I couldn’t ask for a richer gift. Each of your voices has lifted me up to continue pursuing my passions. Without you, there would be no reason to evolve and push myself to higher levels. My dream is to make an impact in this world such that others can know and enjoy what vibrant health is all about. Thank you Eating Clean and Thank You.
